Information systems will change the structure of an organization.  It can change how the organizations structure focuses on the patient.  What ever system is used it has to enable everyone involved to meet patient's needs, wants, and expectations.  This is part of the overall health experience.  Information systems will change the waiting time for patients.  This will in turn increase quality.  What system is needed for a particular organization will depend on patient's perceptions.  If the organization wants to meet revenue goals or even maximize the quality and value of the patient's experience they can use the blueprinting technique.  This technique delineates all the parts of the system.  

    If the organization wants to build a new clinic or even set up a new insurance plan they can use the PERT/CPM network technique.  This technique is a detailed and organized plan that combines processes such as the control-measurement process.  This process analyzes how well the plan is being executed.  Change can have a negative affect on people and cost money.  An organization could use the simulation technique to "try it out" before implementing the plan to make sure it does not have a negative affect.  Seeing the illustrations could help people be more acceptable of the change.
