There was a good idea to built a huge dam in Sarawak in Malaysia The proposal was to build an enormous dam wall to hold back the biggest reservoir in Southeast Asia. The proposal will:
1- Flood an area bigger than the island of Singapore.
2- Resettle 9,000 indigenous people elsewhere.
3- Clear 70,000 hectare of tropical forests.
4- Take about six years to complete construction.
5- Transmit 75 % of the hydro-electric power generated to peninsular Malaysia.
6- Use over 1,300 kilometers of overhead and 600 km of( submarine cables, which will be the longest submarine cable in the world.
They want to build it for benefits:
1- It would turn Malaysia( into a fully developed economy by 2020.
2- It would boom and revive the( industrial development level of Sarawak ...
