Basics
Near Leicester there was a man called Henry Walker he opened a butchers shop in the 1880s business went well for a while until meat became scarce in 1945, so he turned to selling thinly sliced potatoes they sold well. The first flavour of crisps was made cheese and onion. They then started o branch out other flavours styles of crisps.
Walkers basics are the popular crisps in Britain, they are traditional crisps which come in a range of flavours such as, salt and vinegar, ready salted, marmite, prawn cocktail, roast chicken and cheese and onion, in total they have 14 flavours but its only the most popular that come in the bright colourful colours. These products are aimed at families and that why they can come in a range of variety packs. They advertise they are cooked in sun seed oil which makes them look healthier to family.
Sensations
Sensations are the more mature crisps that appeal to adults. We can tell they are more mature by the names and packaging that are used. The prices of these types of crisps are much more expensive than the normal walker’s basics crisps this shows us that they are aimed at a different target market.
Doritos
Doritos are not your average packets of crisps, they are much more like tortia chips, and they try to attract all customers by using their groovy choice of names.
Walkers lights
These crisps are trying to be put forward as a healthy packet of crisps, these are appealing to the target market who are on a diet. As we can see the big word “lights”.
