Costumer / company branch analysis
When we look at the company branch analysis we are using the D-STEP model. This model describes and analyses the macro-surroundings by means of given points. When we look at these points we have to image that we are dealing with a business-to-business company. The points we are looking at are:
- Demographic factors
- Socio-cultural factors
- Technological factors
- Economic factors
- Politically and legal factors
Not every macro environment factor is even relevant to the branch of Bulthuis BV. But we have tried to give the most relative summaries for each factor for Bulthuis. The factors are described below.
Demographic factors
Bulthuis has customers in a lot of different branches. Because every company who uses trucks or trailers is a potential customer.

Socio-cultural factors
One of the socio-cultural factors on which we can say something that applies to the truck and trailer branch is the producer faith. When we watch to this development we can conclude that in the Netherlands, producers (see appendix) in 2006 have a growing faith.
So we can say about these figures and the upcoming (consumer) faith in our economic that the branch might receive more orders.
Technological factors
When we watch to the development in automation and information use in companies you can see a big growth in internet computers and in computers total (see appendix). Also the investment in computer hardware has a small steady growth.
We can conclude from these figures that computers are today’s necessary materials and almost every company has one and using it.
