Good Morning Ms. Doe:
As you are a member of the Government Affairs Department for CoFax Corporation I have been directed to inform you that there will be a mass layoff of 300 plant employees due to the closing of the Corpus Christy Plant. Unfortunately the damage the plant sustained due to the Hurricane was too great and the decision has been made to close the plant instead of incurring the enormous costs of repair. The good news is that Human Resources will be trying to place as many of the employees as possible in other open position throughout the company. There will be severance packages put together for those who will not remain with the company as compensation. We will also provide relocation packages for those employees that are selected for positions located at our Houston Headquarters. Rest assured, as part of the CoFax Corporation family we will all work hard to make sure that our team mates are all well taken care in light of this situation. Corporate Communications will be releasing a Press Release to this effect as of Monday, August 24, 2008. We ask that you do your part by providing your constituents with correspondence that will be provided to you from the Legal team after the announcement has been made public. It is of the utmost importance that this message be considered company proprietary information. If you or any members of your department have any questions regarding the Corpus Christy Plant please contact Roger Limings at 713-309-5555.
