Chosen

No other man has altered the very core of our existence quite like Him. Never in the course of human history has one figure brought about such a monumental, permanent and glorious change. How many battles were fought, pilgrimages made, thrones claimed, even modern societies built in reverence of the goodness and truth for which He stands? And even then, His reign is humble enough to touch the heart of a child. Who is He, this Jesus Christ?

 “Christ” Means the Chosen One
We have proof in the sacred scriptures that for centuries, a great many men have been prophesizing the coming of a savior for all mankind. Long before Jesus was born, these prophesies spoke of His birth, His life, His passion, death and resurrection. One of the most popular prophesies of how Christ will bring about our redemption is found in Is. 53:1-12 and it is fulfilled in the faith narratives of Christ’s life, the Gospels.

In fact, found all throughout the Old Testament, many prophecies were so detailed that it boggles the mind to think how one individual in human history was able to accurately fulfill all of them. An example would be the betrayal by one of His apostles:

Prophecy (OT)    
(Ps. 41:10) “Even the friend who had my trust, who shared my table, has scorned me”.    (Mk 14:10) “Then Judas Iscariot, one of the Twelve, went off to the chief priests to hand Him over to them”

Fulfillment (NT)
(Mk. 14:18) “And they were reclined at the table and were eating, Jesus said ‘Amen I say to you, one of you will betray me one who is eating with me”

These are clearly not mere coincidences. Taking into account how in Christ, The New is hidden in the Old and the Old should be made manifest in the new, as God in His wisdom so br ...
