Case Study

This case study has brought many issues to the forefront which happens to many businesses today. Chris Smith, a new, bright, and energetic graduate of the University of Phoenix, is starting a new position at Faith Community Hospital as the executive assistant to the chief executive officer (CEO). Chris appears to have an open mind and an enormous attitude for success. An attribute most CEOs would want in a new staff member.
Faith Community Hospital mission statement in the UOP Material (2003) "With the foundation and commitment of our spiritual heritage and values, our mission is to promote the health and well-being of the people in the communities we serve through a comprehensive continuum of services provided in collaboration with the partners who share the same vision and values." (par. 14) This mission statement appears to have something missing. It provides a foundation to promote the well-being of people and the community they serve as a whole company, but in fairness to the individual divisions within the business, it lacks goals.
