A Blogger in the Midst

SITUATION
In reference to this case, management is face with an employee who has posted a personal blog on the web that has become very popular throughout the surgical glove market. On her blog she states that she is an employee of Lancaster-Webb, but has no approval from Lancaster-Webb to market the company or its products. The employee has placed the company in both good and jeopardizing positions. Management is in the process of figuring out how to deal with this new situation which has arisen and where no rules and regulations have been implemented.
Theoretical Lens
Structural ? In the structural frame importance is placed on goals, specialized roles and formal relationships. Employees are given responsibilities and rules, regulations and procedures are established by management. This frame is applicable to this case study, as it is company which has rules and regulations and job descriptions are clearly defined. Helps to understand the roles and responsibilities of different people to meet the goals of the company.
Human Resource ? in this frame management is concerned with making the employee feel good about getting the job done. This frame applies somewhat to this case. The glove girl already had a favorable attitude about Lancaster-Webb and was motivated to post updates to her blog her frequently. In order for the blogging site to continue to be successful it is important that she maintains an up beat attitude about her job while at the same time ……..
Political ? This frame places the emphasis on competition within the work environment. There are numerous differences in needs throughout the company of competing individuals and groups.
