Business Plan

‘Hope’ – A Single Mothers’ Club Business Plan:

Executive summary:

The business outlined in this plan, bears a motive to make a single mom’s life as easy and comfortable as it would be, had they been living with their partner. In the United Kingdom, study shows that the number of babies born to single mothers has risen by about 10 percent in the past decade. In 1993, 32.2 percent of the baby births were outside marriage; this figure has increased to 41.4 in the year 2003 and is still increasing. This study reported by BBC suggests that there is a significant rise in the number of single mothers (Birth…2004). Studies also show that, children born to single parents were more prone to higher risk of mental instability and emotional problems, since they are more likely to experience disruptions in their family life which can have negative consequences in their emotional and educational development.

The basic idea of this business is to provide the single mothers a home away from home, a place where they would be provided with various services such as counselling & support from trained counsellors regarding career or emotional guidance, assistance related to child raising, crèche and a play school specifically for working mothers, a coffee shop to meet friends and relax, etc.

Given that there is a sound knowledge of the place, Single Mom’s Club, presently would be opened in the Southeast part of England, having its base in Southampton. The purpose is to provide a comfortable environment and help them with their issues. This business plan is a project that would prove to be a commercially viable business proposition and will be catering to responsibilities towards the society.
