According to an article in Business Week (Grow and Epstein, 2007), there have been some discriminatory sales practices plaguing the secondary automotive retail industry. Ascertained through research, some people evidently receive higher pricing for cars than others do based on gender and income level. This seems to have had an especially great impact on women and lower income buyers. The assumption is that people who may not be as financially well off as other people are taking a hit in the amount they pay for their vehicles.
