A team provides an organization and its workforce with the answers and the direction required for the organization to be productive. Teams are formed naturally by the organization and are comprised of subcultures within the organization. This gives the team experience and implements a common goal as the driving force. Although it would seem an easy task, the team generally has the pleasure or displeasure of dealing with issues pertaining to the organization. Now the team must self assess from which it formed and implement a strategic plan for accomplishing the derived solution.
This team meets everyday at a prescribed time with consistent attendance of its members. During the morning meeting, the daily plan, departmental work, divisional work, and repair activity schedules are discussed and deconflicted. The meeting is only 15-20 minutes in length and the team members must move on to their next meeting with the workers or external teams for further deconfliction of the day. The instantly nonverbal communication begins with each subculture looking around their table taking a nonchalant attendance of its members. The tables are not arranged to allow all the members of the team to see each other, nor is there enough room for all members. A few members required to attend the meeting must stand and all members are within each other’s personal space. The team leader begins reading the daily plan while checking for visual and audible acknowledgement of the information given out.
