Analyses Of Civilization And Its Discontents

Julian Betancourt  March 3, 2009  Prof. Hodge  Draft Paper #1  Snappy and Informative Title
AHF Linkage: The overall theme of this semester’s linked RHT B and AHF    courses     is “Nature, Culture, Progress.” Though you will likely not be reading any     of the same texts in the two courses, you are highly encouraged to think about and     invoke AHF texts. Bringing in outside sources will enrich our class and broaden     our discussions. (If you would like to use an AHF text in the composition of a     paper, make sure to secure permission from me first.)

Writing Assignments/Workshop Days: Both your rough and final drafts must     include a word count at the top of the paper. If there is no word count, I will not     accept your paper. Both your rough and final drafts must be double spaced, so that     your peers and I can correct them easily. Always have a title for your paper or     speech, but do not include a cover page. On Writing Workshop days, you must     bring three clean copies of your rough draft with you.

Speech Delivery Days: On these days, you must bring your Mini DVD+RW     (which you should have from last semester, but they are also available at the     bookstore). Once you have delivered your speech, you will receive your DVD     back, and you will be required to view your speech and write a one-half page self-    critique. These critiques are due to me during the class period following your     speech.
