Stem Cell research is one of the topics that we see quite often within the world today. Science has always yearned to be on the forefront of new technology that will aid to the many illnesses that plague our society. Aging to many of us can be interpreted as a true sign of getting older. With every year that passes by, we hope that our memories of past experiences will always be vivid within our minds. Alzheimer’s Disease has plagued many individuals in recent years, and this is a disease that can be traced back in history to the early 1900s.
Research into this medical uncertainty was needed so medical professionals could aid the plight of Alzheimer’s patients. Many questions have been raised concerning Alzheimer’s. It’s first known case; the economical impact; how society views it; and the political and ethical dilemmas. How do we examine such a disease as Alzheimer’s? First we will need to explore the early infancy of AD, and gain an understanding of this devastating disease.
Scientists, in the early infancy of discovering the causes and effects of memory loss were truly astonished about their findings. One of the early pioneers in the research of Alzheimer’s was Alois Alzheimer. He is actually the person that the AD was named after. Through much discussion and direction within the scientific community, there have been great discoveries within Alzheimer’s research.
Alzheimer’s Disease can be defined as a highly progressive degenerative disease of the brain.
