Government
1. Reagan promised cooperation with PATCO and to regain trust in government.
2. The decisions made by the government will affect the economy with either decision they might have chosen to make.
3. Sets a precedent for working with unions for future presidents.
The new employees that replace the fired employees
1. A flux of new employees all of the sudden entire the air controller industry.
2. New employment opportunity.
Travelers (less flights available)
1. Safety issues by leaving the others understaffed.
2. Less flights available for travelers and businesses.
3. Ticket Prices go up.
Key Case Facts
One of the key factors that came from the strike was that the airline industry did change. It made the government aware that better technology was needed and that requiring too much from a government employee will eventually backfire.
Many of the people that were fired from their jobs found it near impossible to find work as good as the work they had as an Air Traffic Controller.
The people defied the government policy they had agreed to at the time of employment. I think this was an important development for the unions because they may have not known all of the stresses and strains of the job they would be performing in the future. Even though it had a ...
