I am writing this letter to state my reasons of eligibility for a summer internship. I have below the standard 3.0 GPA requirement and I feel as if that is only because I transferredhere and was becoming accustomed to the new academic setting. My grades areon the incline and I believe that I would be a valuable asset to wherever I intern. I have numerous hours of work experience, and through this I have learned to deal with variousdifferent people directly and indirectly. I have worked in restaurants, offices, summer camps and have accustomed great skills for working with groups, computers, and office supplies. I have been accepted for an internship program at The Metropolitan Opera in the Finance/ Marketing department. This is a huge opportunity for me based on the credentials and prestige of the Opera House. This internship would give me an in depth look into the fields of Marketing and Finance and how large corporations handle their everydaytasks and assignments. I would work there for the month of June and would be underthe direct supervision of the head of the Finance Department, Bill Thomas. I believe that this would be a great chance for me to work with someone of his stature and knowledgeand hopefully receive a job in the future.
